The young people involved are cultural Aboriginal children from the remote areas of the Kings Canyon Region. Their homelands are located hundreds of Kilometres from the nearest primary and secondary schools in Alice Springs or Yulara. Attendance at these schools is also fraught with family, cultural and social influences, thus schooling for many is an impossibility. For many of them English is their second language, speaking native language when at home or in the company of their families. With the support of the Conway’s Kids Trust Fund and at the request of their families, children desirous of attending schooling are offered places at Prince Alfred College, Adelaide or Westminster School at Marion, South Australia.                     |
